I am an SFC!!!

Sunday, March 12th, 2006

I am an SFC member!!  Am proud to be one!!  Now these lines come from the heart.  It took me two and a half years to finally say it and with full of conviction.  SFC by the way is Singles for Christ.  A catholic community that I am proud to say I belong to.

I became a part of SFC way back 2003.  I am one of the members that has a lot of questions and doubts about the community.   Some of these are ‘Are these people genuine?’, ‘Are they just here to look for a partner?’, ‘Can I really trust them?’, ‘Do they really mean it when they praise God with their hands up?’, ‘Why do I need to give money to community?’ and ‘Why are they always promoting GK?’.   Thank God I stayed and waited for the answers.   It was the International Leaders Conference that gave me most of the answers.  Now I am telling you I will be here to stay!!! (But praying to eventually move to Couples for Christ and hope soon hehe)

I can compare my journey in the community with a girl-boy relationship.  That is, you can’t just quit without even giving the other person a chance to prove his/herself.   You can’t just quit with so many unanswered questions.  You need to have a closure somehow.

The community and its culture helped me to have a deeper relationship with God.  I’ve tried to have a deeper relationship with God on my own.  I realized that it is much better to do it with a support group.

So the next time a friend invites you to SFC, just give it a try.  If you have doubts and questions just give the community a chance.  You may also email me at frozen_margarita21@yahoo.com.

Pahabol, I believe that it helped me to get to know the community better by saying ‘Yes!’ to all the services that they required from me during the times I am still half-hearted.

See you all in heaven!  God bless us all!

He’s not just that into you…

You know what I prayed for last night??  That is to be blessed with a man like the ones in the movie ‘Rumor has it’.  Don’t laugh!!! Because I actually did.  Hehe.. Not one like Beau Borroughs of course!  But one that is like the dad or the fiancee of Jennifer Aniston’s character in the film.

That movie just reiterates what the book titled ‘He is not just that into you’ is trying to get into every woman’s hard head.  That is, if a man loves you he will really pursue you and even commitment-phobia can be cured by love.  It’s time for us woman to save ourselves of the time spent thinking ‘why is he not calling me?’, ‘why is he not asking me to marry him?’ or ‘why is he not asking me out on a date?’.   And the wasted time spent doesn’t just stop to these questions, there are also the time spent JUSTIFYING men’s actions like ‘maybe he is just shy’, ‘maybe he is intimidated’ or ‘maybe he is not just ready’.  AAAAHHH!!!! LADIES!!!! STOP!!! STOP IT NOW!!!!  The only answer is ‘HE IS NOT JUST THAT INTO YOU!!’.   It’s that simple.   Save yourself of the stress!!!  Don’t fret.  Don’t be saddened.  It’s not because one is unlovable or not good enough.  It’s just that he is not the one that God prepared for you.  Move on and accept the fact that he is not the one that will love you like crazy.

There are a lot of things that we can do while waiting.  The world is out there for us to conquer.  There are a lot of things that a single lady can do freely. Take advantage of your single life because you can’t turn back the time.  As what grandma Catherine said in the movie ‘Life is short but marriage is long’.  Hehe…
