Raggamuffins

Sport_158

Honestly speaking, this is one of the blogs that I really had a hard time to write.  For the reason that, I really can’t find the words to describe how I feel.  So please bear with me as I try my very best to put it into writing.

Several times I asked God why our Singles for Christ (under CFC) community needs to have activities like Sportsfest because for me it is just a waste of money that can be used in other evangelization works.  I also asked Him for a higher purpose of the dance numbers that would be requested from me to organize for the community.

He answered all these questions thru blessing me with my Raggamuffin family.  You see, I’ve danced, sang, went to retreats, served in any form with so many people in the SFC community.  Still, I really can’t find friends that have the same ‘brain waves’ as mine.  (BUT!! This didn’t stop me from serving Him and be active in the community.   God can be really so funny and ironic some times that He gave me the group of friends that I’ve been looking for in a very, very, very long time through the DANCE NUMBER that I organized for the community’s SPORTSFEST activity.  Hehehe.  (See! I’ve spent a lot of time to think because I am starting to run out of words again because of the overflowing positive emotions that I have inside) J

Haaayyyy… I give up!! I will just describe my Raggamuffin family in bullet points!! Hahahaha.  This is how I would define us.  Raggamuffin family is a group of friends that…

…God put together to glorify and serve Him. I can really say that God is really our founder.

…really manifested God’s EXTRAVAGANT LOVE for me!

…would praise and worship God before bonding sessions.

…would pray for each other’s concerns.

…totally enjoy clean fun!

…allows me to be who I really am!  I can show my sentimental, angry, sad, happy, energetic and loud personalities without worrying that I am already annoying them.  In short, they allow me to feel.

…would be there to give encouraging words and words of wisdom when needed.  Proven after Raya and Marian’s badminton elimination game.  This is just an example because other examples are kept in the raggamuffins’ chest of secrets.

…would pro-actively help me when I encounter a problem.  Proven and tested by the SMS brigade during my time of desperation in our sportsfest dance practice sessions.  Raggas!!  I was really so touched because you’ve shown how much you love me.  You are the friends that will not just stop in giving encouraging words in times of desperation but would go the extra mile of offering your help to solve it.  Sobrang ibang klase!  I was not expecting that God would make me feel that I am capable of being loved thru you.

…can spend 48 hours of being together and would still ask for more bonding times!  We just can’t get tired of each other and I think we will ever be.  Mala-shabu nga ang epekto ng mga ito sa akin.

…even if our paths just crossed 2 months ago, it is as if we’ve known each other for a very long time.  We’ve shared so MUCH about ourselves to each other.  I guess they are my soulmates hehehe.

…exchanges almost 300 emails DAILY!! Discussing God’s great love, kalokohans, problems, childhood days, kasentihan, cartoons and our love for each other.

…are ‘kaladkarin’.  Grabe! Kahit saan yayain pupunta!!  Wala akong masabi!!  Here is just one example.  My SFC brother Arman SMSed me if I want to join the SFC movie night for the horror movie ‘Sukob’.  I immediately answered him that I am really a coward when it comes to horror movies.  Hala!! Ragga Almin asked the group if we are in for the movie and this was the first time that God showed me how far is the spirit of this group can go.  The reply of people that are hesitant to watch??  ‘Pag go ang ragga, go ako!’  Grabe talaga!  That’s why I am watching Sukob tomorrow night hehehe.  Mind you, I am not the only coward in the group but all of us said yes!!  Hahaha!  Another funny thing is when the movie schedule was moved to our supposed Monday tennis night session, everybody panicked that we ended up having an emergency conference call to discuss the matter. Hahaha!  That night really put a smile on our face as we went to sleep.  We called each other ‘ADDICT!!!!’.

…will go the extra mile because of the spirit of unity!!!

…allows me to enjoy and let out my inner child!  I finally found friends that in our age would still want to play patintero, tumbang preso, shaggydy, oh a key, board games like cluedo and other children’s games.  Sobrang patok talaga tayo wala akong masabi!!!

…are not KJ.

…once again proves that God moves in mysterious ways.  3 months ago I can’t find myself having a very close relationship with these people.

…would simply enjoy a cup of Mc flurry.

…simply enjoy being together.

…makes me feel that every second spent together is really, really magical.

…everybody is a ‘BIBO’!!! Everybody is willing to share the talent and strength to everyone.  Manifested by Gabs and Almin’s offer to teach us how to play tennis and Serg to teach us how to play badminton.

…made me realize how important is a God-centered relationship.

…made me realize that God answers all of our questions in His own time.

…is one of the extravagant God’s gift to me on my 30th year of existence.  Ibang klase ka LORD!!  Wala akong masabi!!! Buhos-buhos!

…made me realize that I will never underestimate my service thru dancing.  Now I can see a higher purpose in it and that is, I might give an avenue to other SFC members to find their own Raggamuffin.

I can say that each of these is still an understatement.  TRULY!!! Words are not enough to describe how I feel.  Sobrang in love na kami sa isa’t-isa!!

See!! I’ve spent 2 hours just to write this entry!  This is the amount of time that I need to sort out what’s in my heart.

To my Raggamuffin family.  I love you very much!  I am really thankful to God that He gave me the honor of meeting you.  You will forever be in my heart.  Sobrang nakaukit na kayo sa katauhan ko!  Sobrang mahal ko na talaga kayo!!!  Whatever happens let us continue serving God because He is the reason why we found each other.  Serving God with you is really a high!  We are put together to serve the community.  I really honor our group when we went to support the welcome party at ECP for the Tampines CLP graduate even after a very tiring weekend retreat and sleep??over at Serg’s place.  Sis Irene is really thankful that we came because we’ve shown the graduates how SFC can rock!!!  Let us help each other to love God so much!  Let us help each other to grow in our faith!!  Grabe! Kung isang lalaki lang kayo e masasabi kong ‘You possess the qualities of the man that I am looking for’!! Hahahaha!  Ibang klase talaga tayo!! You are all worth the wait!!!!  Mwa!!!!

To the rest that will read this blog up to this point.  Just continue serving God in any way you can because you will never know when you will meet your own Ragga family.

As the Raggamuffin motto goes… ‘TO GOD BE THE GLORY AND TO THE RAGGAMUFFINS THE MC FLURRY!’
