Faith in Angels and demons…

One of my favorite lines from the movie Angels and demons was from Tom Hanks that goes ‘Faith is a gift that I have yet to receive.’  I am so amazed how God can use a non-Christian character to affirm what I’ve come to realize in my relationship with Him.

That line brought me back to my faith journey.  I remembered before when I am struggling I would always tell and convince myself on who God is, what He is capable of and what He has already done for me.  It’s as if I have a mantra that I continuously feed myself so that my whole being can believe it.  It’s as if I am conjuring my faith using my own strength.  It surely got me through the storms of life.

But now as I slowly walk in a deeper journey of faith, I come to realize that I don’t need to conjure faith.  All I need to do is ask God to pour upon me tons and tons of faith, trust and confidence in Him.  I pray for faith whenever I doubt His plans for me, whenever I am asking where He is in times of trials and whenever I am experiencing injustice and persecution.  I pray everytime my heart and mind is in doubt and anxious.

I should always remember that faith is a gift.  Since it is a gift, all I have to do is to ask from the Giver.  I am so lucky that the Giver is a great generous God who gives freely and abundantly. J

So what are you waiting for?  Ask and it will be given to you!!!!! J
